Bill Murrin

Born in Chicago, Illinois. Founder and 1st President of American Falconry Conservancy (AFC) and presently AFC’s Legal Liaison. Area of specialized study in Enlightenment Natural Law political philosophy and U.S. constitutional history

Born Feb. 20, 1920, in Denver, CO. Founder and 1st President of North American Falconers’ Association. Founder of the Colorado Hawking Club. Co-authored North American Falconry & Hunting Hawks, 1964 (now on its 9th edition), which is the “bible” of North American falconry. Has been an ardent supporter of falconry for 78 years and has been a ceaseless campaigner for less governmental interference of licensed falconers. Instrumental in establishing the falcon mascot project concept at the U.S. Air Force Academy and acted as advisor to them for many years. His efforts led to the legalization of falconry and the protection of raptors in Colorado prior to their inclusion in the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Graduated from University of Arizona at Tucson, B.S. in Political Science, 1942; Received J.D. from University of Denver, 1952. Lt. Commander U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1972.
